Penile Implant
A Long-Term Solution for Restoring Sexual Function
Penile implant surgery is a highly effective treatment for erectile dysfunction (ED), especially for men who have not had success with other treatments like pills, injections, or vacuum devices. It is considered a long-term solution with very high satisfaction rates.
There are two main types of implants:
- Inflatable Penile Implant: This is the most common type. It uses a hidden pump and fluid-filled cylinders to create a firm, on-demand erection that feels natural.
- Malleable (or Semi-Rigid) Penile Implant: This implant consists of bendable rods that allow the penis to be manually positioned for intercourse.
While all surgery has risks, such as infection or mechanical failure, 85-95% of men and their partners report being satisfied with the results. Implants can also be an effective treatment for severe Peyronie’s Disease.
